Start Your Care Business the Right Way

A regulated care service is built long before an application is submitted. We take new providers from concept to registration-ready — service model, governance, leadership, evidence and launch plan, prepared to the standard regulators expect.

HOW WE HELP

From Idea to Registration-Ready Provider

Most failed or delayed registrations share the same root cause: the application was submitted before the business behind it was ready. Regulators do not register paperwork — they register providers who can demonstrate, in interview and in evidence, exactly how their service will keep people safe, deliver effective care and remain financially viable.

We work with you to build that provider. That means defining the service model precisely — which regulated activities, which service user groups, which geography — before a single policy is written. It means governance that matches how you will actually operate, a Registered Manager and Nominated Individual who can speak to every document in the evidence file, and a financial model that survives commissioner scrutiny.

Unlike consultancies that hand you a policy pack and wish you luck, we prepare you for the whole journey: the application, the fit person interview, the first referral, the first invoice and the first inspection.

OUR UNDERSTANDING

Why Preparation Decides the Outcome

Every UK regulator — CQC in England, Ofsted for children’s services, Care Inspectorate Wales, RQIA in Northern Ireland and the Care Inspectorate in Scotland — assesses the same underlying question: can this provider evidence safe, effective, well-led care from day one? Applications are routinely returned or refused for gaps that preparation would have caught: statements of purpose that do not match the intended service, managers who cannot articulate their quality assurance system, and financial projections that do not support the staffing model described. We build your application so those gaps never exist.

THE PROCESS

How We Work With You

I. Discovery consultation

We map your intended service — model, client group, funding routes, geography and leadership — and identify the correct registration pathway and realistic timeline.

II. Service model and governance design

We define your regulated activities, statement of purpose, organisational structure, quality assurance framework and the policies that reflect how you will genuinely operate.

III. Leadership and evidence preparation

Your Registered Manager and Nominated Individual are prepared for their roles and interviews, and your evidence file is assembled, reviewed and stress-tested.

IV. Application, interview and launch

We support the submission, respond to regulator queries, rehearse the fit person interview and prepare your operational launch plan — rotas, referrals, onboarding and first-invoice readiness.

Questions Providers Ask Us

It depends on the regulator and service type, but providers should plan for several months from first decision to registration. DBS checks alone typically take two to four weeks, and regulators can take ten or more weeks to process a complete application — longer if information is missing. Our role is to make sure your application is complete, consistent and defensible first time, which is the single biggest factor in avoiding delay.

No consultancy can honestly guarantee a regulator’s decision, and you should be cautious of any that claims to. What we do is remove every avoidable reason for refusal or return: incomplete forms, inconsistent evidence, unprepared interviewees and unrealistic service models. That preparation is what moves applications through cleanly.

You need the right leadership around you. Regulators assess whether the Registered Manager has the qualifications, competence and experience for the role, and whether the provider organisation can maintain oversight. Many of our clients are first-time provider owners; we help them structure leadership so the organisation as a whole meets the test.

Two things. First, we prepare you for operation, not just registration — costings, referrals and commissioner relationships are built into the plan. Second, we stay useful after launch: when your first complex referral, fee dispute or safeguarding enquiry arrives, you already have a consultant who knows your service.
