Mother-and-baby units & family provision
Identify the right model for your proposal: family assessment, supported accommodation or a clinical mother-and-baby service.
Before you start
The name alone does not determine the registration.
A residential family assessment centre monitors or assesses parenting capacity. A clinical mother-and-baby unit provides healthcare. Housing with support is a different model again. We establish the intended work before preparing a registration plan.
What we help you prepare
- Define who will be accommodated and whether the purpose is assessment, support or treatment.
- Identify the regulator, specialist roles and any overlapping requirements.
- Prepare the service plan, safeguarding arrangements and application documents.
- Plan admissions, staffing, records and leadership preparation.
For existing providers
Support after opening.
We help with inspection preparation, referrals, costings, service-model reviews and proposed expansion. Where assessments or clinical care are involved, the required professional expertise must be clear.
